product return policy

to whom it may concern; I purchased a beef roast today at the Carbonear store, when i got home and opened it to put in my oven, gezz, man you couldnt hold ya nose over it, it stunk of salt fish, n just a terriable smell. I carried it back to the store. I told them to check all the meats, the lady said that, that didnt happen. how she would kno that is beyond me. but, the trip back cost me another $20 for gas, they replaced the roast n that was it, I think the policy return is terrible, they could have at least gave me a voucher. Ill b sure to never purchase meat products again at the store. Thank you Terry Bishop

Dominion Products and Service- Sewer Line and More

This company is a RIPP OFF, I bought the water and sewer line insurance a few years ago and when I filed a claim for a shifted sewer line/vent pipe to be repaired I was told by the licensed plumber that Dominion called for my repair ... and that I would be responsible for digging the vent pipe out to get access to the problem that I understood when I purchased the insurance was covered by the Dominion Insurance Protection Plan.

Not so, Dominions Products and Services, Inc.’s Sewer Line Repair Program, Terms and Conditions does not even mention this exclusion from coverage issue. When I called to get more info on this claim they said they wouldn’t pay for the repair unless I dig up the vent pipe, which is approxately $1500, before they would do anything.

There is no of this in their term and condition and exclusion and the licensed plumber said it was a “grey area” that Dominion uses to Wiggle out of their Protection Plan Insurance obligation defrauding millions of dollars from scammed clients and customers including the plumbers and service people.

Save your money and stay away from Dominion and the new company that they are transferring to namely...Home Service USA Repair Management Corp. on 10/27/2018.

Won't get back to me

We have had the Sewer, Gas, Water line protection and restoration programs for years. Only needed snaked out a couple of times from a local plumber they sent, no issues. Well, now we have a broken sewer line underneath our driveway in May. Plumber said they would get approval to get the repair done and get back to us. My husband has called the plumber mult times and they said they are still waiting for approval from Dominion. We have called Dominion mult times and I asked to speak w/ a supervisor directly. I was told last Wed. it will take 24-48 hrs for a supervisor to call back. Well, it is now Mon. I called at noon today and the dispatcher said all she can do is put in another message for a supervisor to call me. Now as of 5 days from now, they are converting over to a new company Home Serve. I will be calling them on the first day. Probably have to start over from square one again.

Billing and enrollment problems

I enrolled a few of my properties as new business for sewer line coverage. When I received the bills they were not in my name. The bills had someone's name that I did know and a prior occupant of the property on the bills. I called to have the names deleted and my name added which they did after a couple of transfers. Of course, I asked for a corrected bill. I was told I would only get a reminder notice. If I wanted a corrected bill, I would have to go through the enrollment process again. The start date could not be backdated, therefore, I would have to start the coverage eligibility date from today. It did not matter that they make the mistake. Had I known that I would spend hours dealing with these people, I would have started all over again. Now it is an issue because of how poorly I was treated. I was transferred to billing and enrollment many times. Once, I was transferred to claims. They have no supervisors to talk to. This company is the worst to work with. I would hate to see what happens if there is a claim. I will stay until I find another company. Don't use this company for your pipe line coverage.

Zero customer service and horrible no-show contractors

Been paying for gas line insurance for 10 years. Had a small leak and gas company shot off gas and turned a claim in at 5 pm on a Tuesday. Given name of contractor. Called to confirm. He said he had two other jobs ahead of me. Called me to say he would be there Thursday at noon. Took half day vacation and went home. No show. Called Dominion 4 times in this process, all they can do is call plumber who BS’s them and says he’ll be there soon. 48 hours and still no gas! No cooking, no bathing , no laundry for the family. Get a home warranty with American home shield and avoid all this mess!!! Dominion, screen your providers much better!!!! By the way, Dominion has no supervisors, so don’t ask for one!

Really Really Bad Service

I have tried for two days to get someone to come and look at my 82 year old mothers furnace. She has no heat in temperatures below zero. Her money was taken right away and then nothing. I have been getting the run around for two days. First person claiming they never got a claim. Second person stated that they would "RED FLAG" the claim and if no one called in 90 minutes to call back. I called back and surprisingly enough, she did not know what a Red Flag claim was and told me she would call a tech. I believe that this is now just a scam and my mother should get her money back along with her insurance premium.

Terrible customer service

Waiting several minutes on hold to only reach "an overflow call center" that can't help anyway. They want to have someone call me back. Three calls so far in one day, nearly an hour wasted to no resolution so far over a simple billing issue. Here's an idea: adequately staff your call center. Yeah, I have no meetings or other work duties, I'll sit by the phone all day just to wait for you people to call back. This is not the first time. Mailings that lack account numbers and address of service information, confusing billings, etc. I wish another company would go into this business just so I could switch! There needs to be some competition or government oversight. I would not recommend them to anyone.

I called in the morning around 9 am on Tuesday 11/28/2017 and tried to talk to their billing department. They first put me on hold for 30-40 minutes. When the lady finally picked up, she asked me my first and last name and what I wanted. Next thing she said is someone will have to call me back. I asked her if I can place a service call or if she can transfer. She said no and that she won't be able to do two things in one phone call, I will have to cal them twice if I want two things done. I asked her if she can transfer my call and she hung up on me.

Sewer line

This insurance is a joke! I've been paying for this insurance for over 5 years.

My sewer line has backed up 5x in 5 years. They send their contractor out to snake it. Fine, but the last time there were there, they said they couldn't snake it anymore. Said they had to replace the line.

Well the "insurance" doesn't pay for replacing the line---they pay for repairs. So I found a company that will repair it by lining it and they won't pay for that either. Said "that's not the way it works"--I can't just go out and find my own contractor. When I explained that their contractor wanted to replace the line and I found one to repair it, they basically said "too bad", said they're not a preventative plan, that I would have to have a back-up then they'll send someone out again.

What a bunch of BS! Totally worthless product, can't even call it insurance.

Everyone be warned. Don't waste your money!!

Dominion hot water tank insurance is a rip off

Hot water tank went out and I called the number to make a claim only to be told it would be 3 days before anyone could come out. I’ve been paying into this for years and never needed to use it.

Do not buy into this program it’s a rip off. I’ve been promoting this program for years because it sounded like a good thing. Now after learning I’ve been ripped off I will go on every site and warn everyone I know not to buy this crap.now I’m going to just fix it myself and probably do a better job.

Do not buy this junk insurance. I’m going to report them to the abBB also

Rejecting claim stating that it was a pre-existing condition

They refused to honor my claim stating that it was a pre-existing condition. though I have paid the monthly water heater insurance payment to Dominion during March and April 2017.

I noticed a water leak near my basement wall two weeks back. I suspected that my downspouts water drains were not working and water was leaking from the ground into my basement. On Saturday (04/29/17) there was a big pool of water and I thought there was a water main break. I called Fairfax Water on Monday (05/01/17) and they stated that they will check only if the meter is not working.

I called a contractor to check my basement and he came to a conclusion that it was my water heater that was leaking and that the water was not coming from outside. I was happy to hear that since I had a water heater insurance. I called Dominion on Tuesday morning (05/02/17) and a technician came home to check on Wednesday (05/03/17) @ 12:30pm, spent 2 minutes at home taking some pictures and left. Since I did not get any calls from Dominion until evening, I called them by 3pm and they informed me that a dominion supervisor has rejected the claim on the fact that it was a pre-existing condition.

I am not a water heater expert and I did not notice any water leakage in my basement until two weeks back (around 15th of April). They said that we moght not notice it but it was there for a long time. My question is they should have inspected that before they accept my insurance. There was no way I could have known that my water heater was leaking if I could not see any leak outside.

In this case, I feel that they have cheated me by accepting my payments for water heater insurance.

Any old water heater can have problems due to the age. Is it considered as pre-existing, just because of the fact that it was an old water heater?

dominion offered watertank insurance for xx amount- takeing your money for years-- guess what--- increase $-1,00-- want more $ another year goes by--OH- guess what-- they devalue your plan- now it only covers x amount--- now they want another 3.00 to get what you got before- call it a premium plan-- bla-bla-- after they already got your money for years --- I think they need a class action lawsuit against them--- guess what- next year------------------------ $$$$$$----- Ha ! turning into quite a joke- please do not waste your money-- it will just go down the drain- I feel there insurance is a scam- after already having paid into it for several years ----
